Why the name “Cedar Knoll” ?

~We basically have two types of Cedars on our property~

White Cedar - a lightweight wood, this hardy tree can reach an age of over 200 years old.

When cut, it smells like the pencils you sharpened back in the good ‘ol days.

Eastern Red Cedar - more prevalent this is a very hardy tree that is not really named correctly. It is actually a Juniper.

It has a lovely red core when freshly cut, and it releases a beautiful intoxicating smell.
Remember the cedar chests & closets from years ago that kept moths from eating your clothes?

"Up on the Knoll" these trees make an excellent windbreak and provide shelter from the high winds that
are known to creep out of nowhere on Lower Beverley.

The main property can feel much warmer on those cool days where fishing & swimming may not be ideal.
These red cedars grow fast and can be found in a wide range of climate zones.

Knoll is just another term for a small, round natural hill or mound.

...and now you know!

Your Hosts / Owners

A Brief History

Cedar Knoll Camps has been around since 1972, and in 1979 Nancy's parents
bought the campground as it was just supposed to be just a gig for a summer job…HA!

Well, fast-forward some years later, and Nancy now runs the place (with a little help from her husband, Eric)
They both became the "Official" owners in 2018. Many changes have taken place since then,
and there are always improvements to be made to better serve our campers.

Cedar Knoll Camps has entertained guests aged 1-to-100
and generations of campers keep coming back.

***Eric & Nancy  were married on the campground in 2003 and
the bride arrived by pontoon boat, naturally!***
